Elements Database - About

Theoretical and experimental data on elements

The website elements.put.poznan.pl was created for the Department of Quantum Metrology Engineering at Poznan University of Technology. A database, linked to the site, contains experimental results of some of the research conducted at the Department. The site was designed along the lines of the worldwide Atomic Spectra Database website with information on the energy levels of elements. This is the site of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which has data on atomic structure research.

The site is intended for employees of the Department. It provides an opportunity to edit the database, add more results and document them. The staff's activities involve the study of the electron shell structure of atoms and the determination of resonant electromagnetic transitions, as well as the determination of hyperfine structure constants A (magnetic dipole interaction) and B (magnetic quadrupole interaction). The results are obtained by high-resolution laser optical spectroscopy.

The website elements.put.poznan.pl is the engineering thesis of Ms. Klaudia Pauk, a student in the field of Technical and Information Technology Education at the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics. The topic of the engineering thesis: Modification of a website presenting data on the structure of the atom based on a MySQL database.

The website is based on the engineering thesis site of Messrs. Szymon Banach and Jakub Stempczynski, students in the field of Technical and Information Technology Education at the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics. The topic of the engineering thesis: Creation of a website presenting data on the structure of the atom.
